Krill Oil

Pure Bio's Krill Oil capsules are derived from Antarctic krill – a zooplankton crustacean offering a naturally unique balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, phospholipids and antioxidants. Specific to krill oil is an omega-phospholipid complex that is rich in EPA and DHA. The phospholipid content of the oil incorporates a profile that closely resembles that of human brain phospholipids. As a result this complex easily crosses the blood brain barrier.
The capsule also contains astaxanthin - a non-toxic carotenoid with antioxidant properties.
Krill oil derived from Antarctic krill is assured of supporting a sustainable fishing model. Antarctic krill harvesting has occurred for over four decades and the industry is well-established and operates within carefully crafted systems, which were created by numerous protection agencies and overseeing bodies. Only one third of the 1% of total krill population permitted by regulation to be removed is actually being fished currently. So well over 99% of the Antarctic krill population is left behind. This is controlled by the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) who have managed the region since 1982.
